Electromagnetic dent removal exists for aluminum structures. I've seen it in action and it can do some impressive things. Spendy though.

Nah, it needs to continue. Use it wisely, but keep using it.

It needs to be brown, and have a manual and be based on a Panther platform, right....right?

Respirators and the buddy system have only been big for fuel tank entry for about 15 years. Before that you were on your own.

sweet.

in fairness those weren't all the 458's fault.

I always assumed that "bless your heart" was southern sweat lady for "you dumb ass".

I'm very greats up for the 949 miles between my house and Red Hook. Very greatful.

It is a thing.

yep, they will make it up in individual state income tax over a few years as well as job growth and all that.

Because the world doesn't always follow the school calender. We pulled our son out of school to go see one of the last Space Shuttle launches and would absolutely do that again.

That was what my brain was trying to spit out. A hot start. I've seen what can happen to wing skins and spars when you have a bad hot start. Fixable, but no fun. Burnt carbon fiber resin stinks too.

Now playing

Yes. 100% I spent a good part of.my early engineer career fixing stuff like this. Structural repair for aluminum and composite structures is a known science. For this situation either the Air Force will repair it or, more likely, they will use the Boeing RAMS team.

My guess is they tried to start it, it failed for what ever reason, they kept the fuel contool on and hit it again and ignited the fuel that had collected in the tail pipe. Happens.

True that, but he doesn't quite have the mystique as Senna or Alonso.

I guess the question to ask now is would Alonso drive the new NSX? Probably, but what would he bring to it?

Nice!

Quote from the mechanic, "We don't work on many turbo cars." Could have told me before messing up the car!

We should be friends. Lovers of crazy Japanese cars who don't feel the need to throw aftermarket parts at them.
