Takes time. They want to fully check them out especially when there is risk of concussion.
My thoughts go out to the airline employees who were killed and injured.
older narrow bodies. MDs, 757, 737. Not sure about the baby Busses.
777s don't use blue juice. They have a vacuum system.
777s? JetBlue only flies the baby 'Buses.
my airline of choice used to serve mimosas in first class before take off for international flights. Now it is OJ or champagne. They will still mix you up one if you ask. My last flight to Tokyo I just asked for one of each and made my own mix. Made the FA laugh.
looks like there are 7 shows. They have something on at 10 each night this week.
they typically do shows for each of the classes. Are they not doing so this year?
it is a question of desire. 6-7 years ago I was like you. I could change the oil and replace a flat tire. Then I got a ridiculous quote for a brake job, went to the internet to look for instructions and saw it wasn't that hard. Did it myself in an afternoon. Felt great, saved $800 and learned something. I've gone on…
Wonder if PPG might have an upgraded window out there and they are replacing them on an attrition basis. Pretty common for a component that has a reasonable failure mode. there are no airwrthiness directives for the windows.
Aerodynamic sealing of the windows is a difficult issue. As mentioned, erosion is an issue. Beyond that, when you replace a wind typically you are looking at a 24 hour cure at nominal conditions. Longer if the humidity is high.
That is a flap fairing. It doesn't carry loads and is just there as an aerodynamic efficiency improvement. That big beefy structure you see that looks like a beam is the flap track. That is important. Not that you ever want parts falling off, but that part isn't that critical.
I think you would do ok with the '65 car.
