Okay gotcha, makes sense that people might have an issue with the changed tone. I don’t mind franchises mixing it up and trying out different tones, especially one as old as Hitman, but I can see the fan base not liking it.

The fact that this happened (and was so clearly awkward for everyone) proved that the game was actually being played, and actually made me way more excited about the game overall. No bullshots!
I honestly kinda like it when a demo messes up because I know for sure that it’s real and in-game!
I don’t think it needs to bring anything new to the table. I just think that aesthetic would work very well for a game, the gritty exosuit battles. Also, if you enjoyed the movie you should check out the book, IT had a MUCH better story. The movie changed quite a bit that was central to the 3rd act of the book.
