Yeah, I agree. Telling stories through video games is, on a lot of levels, still a very rough, new way of building narratives, but you can't really overlook not very good game play because there also exists a not very good story.

This is the same for me. The lore is for the most part just a bunch of mashed together tropes from creepypastas and old ghost stories, all shoved into a "Hey isn't Chuck-E-Cheese creepy?" wrapper.
