I really tried to get into Lost Odyssey, but that game just didn't want me to progress. At one point I hit this required boss battle, against four different bosses at once (it was in some glade with a waterfall, and shallow water all over the arena). And no matter what I did, I could not beat that encounter. But I had

Xenoblade Chronicles told a story every time you set foot into a new part of the Bionis and the Mechonis. It told stories of secret wars. Other times, heavily guarded areas were draped in sparse, dusty, sepia-toned sections with mechanical, lifeless beings at every turn. But sometimes it told too much by way of

Unity wasn't the greatest AC game, but personally I enjoyed the hell out of it. Also found the refined controls to be a general Improvement. I also waited a few months to play it.

Uhhhhhhh Minecraft is a game, people make videos of all kinds of things in it. Want to give your kids something super awesome to watch from MC? Link them to this series:

These guys in the UK run a server where hundreds of people join and co-currently construct entire worlds and record it. Then you get to watch it all

It is an homage to an era. Not a rip off of any particular song. It takes influence from a lot of different Boogie and Electro funk acts. From the aforementioned Time, to Midnight Star, Zapp & Roger, Cameo, and many others. It's also a really fun song.

That's some damn fine parenting there. "I saw a story on a blog that demonized a thing, so I decided instead of doing any further research on my own, I will instead take away this creative world building tool from my kids." Bravo.

Because little anime girl icons are so much more mature right?

37 here, with a 14 year old son & 17 year old daughter. I was playing Minecraft until it hit release a few years back, at which point I just kind of lost interest in it. My son was playing it till about a year ago, when he decided he was more interested in music than video games (bless his heart).

As someone without very many active PSN friends, are Heists still fun, or even possible to play with public players? I find even playing the simple co-op missions tends to devolve into some asshole in my lobby actively trying to ruin the game.

I definitely agree that eventually both of those technologies will be at a point that your average gamer or even casual gamer will have affordable access to them, and they will be more comfortable and have all of the quirks worked out. I just don't see that happening anytime soon.

Maybe it's the fact that I already

Finally beating it. It only took 18 years, but I finally did it. To be fair though their was about 17 years between play sessions.

After I beat it, and I completed all of the extra side missions, I really appreciated the game a hell of a lot more. When I was 17, and the game came out I didn't catch all of the little

I should have clarified... I realize that VR will begin as simply as possible, but once it takes off, the manufacturers and devs will assuredly try their hardest to sell gamers more devices and peripherals.

And maybe I'm just old, but I really don't like the idea of having ZERO peripheral vision, or even being able to

And what is Borat's super power exactly?

I'm not arguing that it would be a fun, and interesting experience, just that most gamers aren't going to really go for it (yet). A big barrier is the price tag. But I'm sure that will become very affordable in 5+ years.

No way. It's totally a fad, and it'll stay that way for a loooong time.

It's important to remember that the vast majority of people who play video games as a regular past time, love the fact they can do it in a comfy couch, with minimal physical interaction. As soon as you introduce peripherals that cause your head to

DAMN, and to think that guy I bought it from in Singapore seemed totally trustworthy.

What the creative dialog of "Sonic! Sonic!" doesn't engage you?

my inner 13 year old just imploded thinking of a classic Nintendo exclusive appearing on their rivals system.

Of course there was always this totally "legit" port of Sonic for SNES (complete with a cameo by Mario) too:

I never played it, I just read that it had a totally different plot, and characters. The one in the Sony/MS platforms had an awesome script and plot. And was a direct sequel to II.

I just waited it out. Since I was only playing the game on my commute . I came back to it when I could do it legitimately.
