I enjoyed 2 for the time I played it. I admired that they tried to mix up the survival elements a little, even if they weren't done all that well. And the map for the time was massive.

I still feel that the original PC Far Cry was the best of the series.

Interesting, looks like it followed just a year or two after the original game.

This being CKII, though, you're not locked into your decision for long. Because you control the entire dynasty in the game, and not a single person, once your first ruler dies, you take control of their heir and do it all again. You could follow in your father's footsteps, or break out and shame his name, it doesn't

Yeah fortunately I branched out early and only did Telemarketing for a few months at a few different places before doing something completely different. Of course that was like 20 years ago now.

Same here. Even when I am really irate at a situation, I make sure to inform the CSR, that my frustration isn't personal, and that I apologize if I'm being difficult to work with. Y'know, just take a few seconds to clarify your stance, before venting.

Oh I'm not defending that employer by any means. Those people were well within their rights to yell at us. I'm just saying it's not a fun job by any means dealing with people on the phones (I also did a fair amount of incoming support after that too).

I thought game devs learned a lesson from the great Vietnam FPS rush of the 2004-2006 or so seasons. Right after everyone was burned out on killing Nazis. Games like Purple Haze, Battlefield Vietnam, Shellshock, etc all came out to dismal sales, and reviews. Maybe people just don't find anything romantic about a war

That sounds exactly like my first Telemarketing job. We would call customers as an "affiliate of (insert customers power company name)", and then try to up sale the poor schmuck Appliance Insurance. It was one of the worst jobs I ever trudged my way through.

It takes an extra thick skin to make it in CS.

I don't really think I need to answer this, as it should be obvious... but, people who are assholes to CSR's, are probably just assholes in real life, on a day to day basis. I can understand people getting irate at Telemarketers, because THEY are contacting the customer unsolicited. But if you are calling a help line

I am not arguing with you ;)

Awww yes I see what you are saying now. That is a little strange, though to be fair Ubi just owns a ton of other smaller dev houses, including I assume Techland. So maybe this is more a thing the Far Cry dev team was considering, and not so much a bigger corporate idea.

Call of Juarez 1 & 2 are personal favorites of mine, and high watermarks for the Spaghetti Western influenced genre of gaming, but there is plenty of room imho for more Western Shooters. I say fuck yes to Ubisoft crafting a game set in that era. Outlaws was my favorite of the old school pixelated/sprite based FPS's,

I'm 90+ hours in, and just discovered my Stable in Skyhold... I completely agree with this reply. lol

I have basically the exact opposite impression after having spent about 100 hours in game, and in my story, I'm about a day past the Winter Palace Ball.

If you think you are spending too much time doing meaningless, trivial stuff. Stop doing meaningless, trivial stuff. You don't have to craft the best armor or weapons

Craig T. Nelson and Jo Beth Williams remember.

There is definitely a little Viper in that design.

It is

Before you start casting stones, take into account that Kotaku isn't only a native English speaking community. Surprisingly, the world doesn't revolve around the country I live in.

I have never even paid attention to my framerate. What other people call chugging, or slowdown, I call "free bullet time"... of course I also almost entirely play PC games offline.

"In Space... anyone can do that" :P
