No prob man. It takes a lot of patience and self-discipline to get good at anything.
Are you familiar with Young Galaxy?
As a fellow self-taught musician, I would say to you: the best thing you can do, is just keep practicing. And don't worry about being out of rhythm or anything like that. Just play. Some of the most amazing music on the planet has no rhyme or reason to it. Start creating textures, just experiment and have fun. I love…
HAH I just realized I didn't put any Tycho in this particular playlist! Rectified! Oh yeah also check out everything ever made by Ulrich Schnauss. German Dreamwave producer, simply undescribeable.
Tycho is incredible. One of my favorite modern chill producers. Also check out Emancipator, OTT, Crozet, damn there's so many. Just tak a listen to this: http://open.spotify.com/user/djfact.50…
Maybe it's just me, but having been raised during the Atari/NES/SNES/Genesis era, I always get a good chuckle at these retro/pixel art style pieces. They rarely look like they came from a specific platform, and are more like a mashup of various types of old school graphics displays. Like this one for instance reminds…
Mine was Kiki's Delivery Service (which I loved), followed by Totoro (which I practically worship, in fact wearing one of the several Totoro shirts I own, right this second). Then I saw Laputa: Castle In The Sky (which I also adore), Nausicaa, and all of the others shortly after. Also feel VERY fortunate to have…
My first experience with Miyazaki was through VHS boots my friend made me for my Bday in the mid-90's. I spent the next 5 or so years forcing my friends to watch them, until Disney finally distributed the filmography over here. But for awhile Ghibli felt like my special discovery.
Awww ok yes, that does make a lot of sense.
Really surprised he didn't win. I thought Doraemon was still hugely popular in Japan?
Great series!!!
What Chim Chim? Racer X is my Dad!!???
We must be the same age, or thereabouts. Because that's pretty close to my experience as well.
It too me a long time to appreciate Ghost In The Shell, because the original Manga was one of my favorite series as a teenager. I used to collect the Dark Horse reprints. And when I first saw the movie, it was so far removed from the manga it really bugged me. Stand Alone Complex, and that other movie though I found…
Dude, dude, dude... do some digging! There is some Anime out there from the past 40 years that is fucking amazeballs. Ghost in the Shell, while good, barely scratches the surface of what you are missing out on.
Mine was the original Robotech, Voltron, Speed Racer, and Manzinger-Z
Yep that and True Lies on Genesis!
Reminds me of the old screen savers on early PC's. I remember my mom one day was watching ours and commenting on all of the pretty shapes and colors it made. Then it formed something vaguely like a Pentagram, so she flipped out, and wouldn't look at it again lol.
