its a place called Cheap Thrills. They sell used and new media from comics and games to movies and music. Vinyl, classic comics, games going back to NES at least. I didnt really check if they have Atari stuff.

Can some awesome CGI animator, or hell even a traditional 2D animator, adapt some of the original 1984 era Mirage stories into some kind of film form? I LOVED that in Turtles Forever, there was some brief scenes with the OG Turtles, but I would kill for a Black & White animated feature length film. April with a black…
I don't have time to do it myself, but I request "Okami Mahjong"
Cool, thanks for the tips! Much appreciated.
Oh hai, doggie
This is super weird, I was just at a used game store with my son today, and he's always looking for PS1 games he never played, so I pointed Medievil out to him.
I think we all were. :(
np. Ive been slowly making my way through the remaining comments
yeah, most studios have
Sorry to keep you waiting. Here's my favorite story from my time in QA:
I was on my first major console testing QA gig (I started in PC). This is back in 2000. I had been assigned the task of gameplay tester. What I did every day for about 9 months, was come in right at 9, grab the newest build, and bust through the…
All manual gameplay. Automation testing is fairly new in gaming, and I'm not sure of the extent it is being used, but since before the late 2000's, all testing was done by real human hands. Like any business the strategy is created from Management on down. The QA Manager sets priorities, and schedules the teams…
In console testing, it is almost all usability testing. There is very little hardware testing. I'm not sure if they use automation in console testing (we didn't when I was in it). I left console in 2010. We use automation testing with mobile and web though.
This is a really good question. I have tested quite a few games that I had no idea were in development. That happens at Sony 3rd party QA a lot. And a bunch of those ended up being some awesome cult classics that didn't sell great.
You know, I don't know. I think I did basic QA for travel planning software once when I was a kid, and I hated it. I did try to apply to more respectable QA positions between gaming gigs, but it's almost like having console testing on your resume is a blemish. Hell if you have any tips to get into what you do, I'm all…
I left there in 2009. But we had about three major layoffs while I was there. And no unfortunately, I can't talk about the specific titles I was on.
Hah I used that as the footer in my article. It's not that bad, but it's nowhere nearly as crazy as The Tester or Grandma's Boy would make you think it is.
Well I am in mobile now, so it's a whole different ballgame. I'm also a FTE with benefits. But yeah I do really want to design games for a living.
I think every tester has those moments. My favorite issues are those ones that require me to turn into Sherlock Fucking Holmes. lol. I.E. There was a game that came out several years back with about 30+ playable characters. I found this one crash that would occur at a very specific spot at the end of this pretty…
Every game I've ever seen that ended up shittier than it looked in pre-Alpha design phase, was due almost entirely to someone at an executive level making a decision. Features may be cut to fit a game into the limits of the media it is being developed for, but the devs rarely cut features that will make the end-game…
Actually the freezer test can happen. That's something that the Standards testing team would handle. It's not something I've ever personally seen done, but I'm aware that there are some pretty extreme test cases for certain features. Especially when testing a brand new console.
And the running around checking every…
