I can’t wait for Phase 7 of the MCU, when they run out of ideas, and turn the entire thing into a complicated legal procedural. Every movie is Charlie Cox defending a super hero accused of something.

(But, really, I would watch that, though I know it would never . I’m not a Marvel person but I did enjoy JJ & DD when

So...? She doesn’t deserve the public shaming she experienced. She slept with a married person, yes, but lots of people sleep with married people. And where’s the shaming of the married person who slept with her? He’s the one responsible for keeping it in his pants. He was also her boss & arguably the most powerful

If Beyonce is a feminist (as she claims in herown low-key way), she should recognize the inherent sexism in making light of a real woman’s traumatic experience publicly. (Even if, for the sake of argument, the trauma was mostly the press coverage and not the affair itself. Lewinsky was crucified in an extremely

I did get a wistful nostalgia from Odenkirk’s acting in this scene. It feels more like a “not anymore” than “someday soon.” It would be a way more interesting ending, IMO, if Jimmy decided to find joy in his new life (without scamming), but I don’t see that happening.

He plays a rather manic character in a single episode of The Practice. I almost didn’t recognize him, despite his very recognizable voice.

Please no.

I’m bored by people constantly comparing BCS to BB, rather than assessing it on its own terms. I don’t even blame viewers because BCS seems determined to not stand alone. But, geez, let the show be its own thing.

Marvel hires fresh directors because they’re too early in their careers to demand additional artistic freedom. If they started hiring people with the ability to visualize massive VFX scenes, they’d have to deal with those people having vision and artistic ideas of their own, and they’d have a harder time making all

I’m going to miss Kim but I’m so happy for her. She’s going to need a lot of therapy but she is way better off without Jimmy, as much as I love them as a couple.

Only she’s not a fictional character, not a real person. No one can make decisions for her.

Do you know any women in real life who agonized over a choice to have an abortion or not? I have never met one.

Bridesmaids is just kinda... dumb. The humor in it is dumb. The writing is, mostly, not that smart. It’s a fine dumb comedy (an entire scene of diarrhea jokes, ugh) but people act as if it’s a smart comedy bc it features women and that is extremely patronizing. I’m a woman who likes smart comedies. I’d love to see

I think Citizen Ruth is more about the way politicians condescend to the people they say they want to help... which is still true and will probably always be true, given human nature, but it’s not really the first thing I’d watch these days, even if Laura Dern is really great in it.

No doubt this is ironic but as with all combos of irony and Degrassi, Degrassi eventually wins.

No, art is inherently political. Art is a way to express a point of view and points of view always include politics. Who we tell stories about? What we choose to feature in painting or statue? How we tell those stories? All of that is political.

Art is inherently political.

I wouldn’t call the movie anti-choice, and I understand, from a dramatic POV, why you’d have Juno go to an abortion clinic... but that is just not reflecting a real experience. Very, very few women decide to have an abortion and back out at the last minute. But this happens ALL THE TIME in film and TV (because it’s

So what? Movies can be about anything. They don’t need to be about accidental pregnancies.

Citizen Ruth ending in a miscarriage is perfect. It’s probably the only movie miscarriage (esp a miscarriage after a character decided to abort) that doesn’t make me roll my eyes. It really underlines the pointlessness of the protestors fighting each other, instead of fighting for Ruth.

Well, sure, but I don’t think any woman who’s ever been pregnant would agree with her deciding to stay pregnant because she’s overwhelmed by her situation. Pregnancy is way more overwhelming than abortion is.
