Of course a piece of media can have a stance. South Park has always had an “other people are idiots” stance (granted, I haven’t watched in years). Modern family has a "family is everything" stance. Law and Order SVU has a "rape is never okay" stance. Etc.

I don’t get the objection to participation trophies in general. Why would we not want to teach kids that it’s important to participate?

Why would anyone want to watch a comedy show that makes them feel bad? The point of comedy is entertainment. If it’s not enjoyable, people are going to complain, tune out, ignore it, etc.

I don’t get this defensive response. Part of being an entertainer is knowing your audience. If people aren’t laughing, you have the wrong material for your audience. If you aren’t willing to change your material, great, but don’t blame the audience.

I don’t know if that’s a small detail though. It’s the entire purpose of his character.

I don’t get the rush to tell people their feelings were invalid. If you like the sexy handmaid costume, great. If people find it offensive, also great. But don’t tell people they should or shouldn’t find it offensive.

No one is arguing that.

I think you’re forgetting the scene where Frank Castle took out ninjas with a gun, thus underlining how ridiculous it was there were ninjas at all. JJ2 was wayyyyyyyy better than DD2.

Except for Trish. She’s literally the worst.

It would be great if they didn’t do that, but after season two, my faith is at an all time low.

You do not exaggerate. It's completely unwatchable.

The promise of Josie and the Pussycats on Amazon Prime just made my night.

The Defenders was incredibly underwhelming, but Jessica Jones and Daredevil’s chemistry cannot be understated.

She could easily be a size eight. She’s really tall and, from what I can tell, hippy. Bodies are proportional. A thin tall person is going to measure bigger around the hips than a thin short person.

I don’t see how this could possibly be compelling. The best part of L&O was always finding out the why they did it in the courtroom section. SVU has replaced that with soapy melodrama for 20 seasons and it works well enough for what it is, but Detective Bensen is the main draw of SVU, so I’m not sure why anyone would

IIRC, the latest data from Seattle’s minimum wage increase was that total minimum wage hours shrunk. The speculation was that business that could hired/moved outside the city and other business cut hours. I'm still in favor of raising minimum wage, but I do think we need to do more research on the actual economic

I agree. Most shows with bad first seasons are just bad. There's a difference between a bad season and a bit of clunkiness.

No, I’ve watched the first five seasons a dozen times. There are occasional jokes that don’t land (and the Fry Leela thing is a bit much), but the storytelling was always super tight.

I feel like that about all the Netflix comedies. They’re all very “I guess I’ll watch.”

Yes

As another teenager in 2004, I thought it was weak. But I did like Scotty Doesn’t Know. Hell, it still gets stuck in my head sometimes now.
