Eh, sorta. The episode creates a silly strawman with the woman Jery is trying to impress. It’s not as nuanced or insightful as Jerry thinks it is, and it hasn’t aged as well as most of Seinfeld. The episode where Elaine things get boyfriend is black is a funnier/more interesting take on white people’s discomfort with

I don’t get the insistence that we need to seperate art from the artist. The whole idea of something being art vs sell out product is that art comes from the soul (insert metaphore of yourchoice here). Why would I want to experience movies that come from the soul of a rapist? What is it’s something smaller, like me

IIRC, he told some very unfunny and wrong for his audience joke about how being onyour cell based you look like a gay French King. Why is it so many comedians assume that people are too PC to enjoy their humor and but that their joke is just not funny?

No, that’s a worse question. You should always check the title of a product. It’s not like Maroon 5 is putting out work that’s blood, sweat, and tears. They’re part of a marketing machine and somebody, somewhere should have known that red pill is an MRA term.

He always had a sexist, racist streak. He’s charming and a good guy, but he always had those”traditional” values. The show really drew it out, but I think it worked. Don’t get me wrong— I loved earlier TMP Mindy x Danny, but I still found his transition into bad BF plausible.

But what if they’re all The Good Wife spin-offs? Then we need a million more shows with Good in the title.

Logan is a much better fit for Rory. I think you nailed why I don’t like him as a potential boyfriends. He clearly thinks he knows what’s best for Rory despite not being in her life forever. He’s a compelling character, especially paired with Luke, but he makes a terrible boyfriend for Rory. You can tell he’s judging

I think a lot of these shows have a Fight Club problem. They make everything look so cool and stylish that it becomes easy to miss the point. Don Draper is a misogynistic alcoholic, but he’s also handsome, charming, and generally cool. I’m sure there are people watching the show because it’s a comfortable way for them

I don’t see how anyone can watch GoT and think the writers include as much sexual violence as they do forlegitimate narrative reasons. Are we watching the same show?

I’ve never seen her bad in anything. She’s miscast as a thirty something in a much of movies, especially Silver Linings Play ook and American Hustle, but she’s always good. IMO she was great in THG and Catching Fire but not as much on Mockingjay.

Even if JLaw was terrible in THG movies, they’d still be much better than any Happy Gilmore film.

Kevin Smith podcasts sober? That was not my experience when I tried getting into one of his podcasts.

My nerdiest* friends hate The Big Bang Theory the most for it’s bad shotgun nerd references.

I think it’s more than men who feel the need to brag about how feminist they are don’t exactly get feminism. It’s not very feminist to speak for/over women. There’s also an unfortuante subset of men who think feminism can help them get chicks or excuse sexist behavior.

As soon as I heard there was an American Death Note movie in production, I knew it would be bad. But will it be so bad it’s good or flat out mediocre bad? I’m really hoping it’s the former.

But from the trailers it looks like they’re copying L’s mannerisms just because. It’s cute when an anime character sits funny and eats candy. When it’s an actual person? Not everything translates well from anime to live action.

Yeah, as someone who had only watched Jessica Jones, I find sudden comic book blandness of the hand jarring and boring.

If you think he looks sad, listen to him sing.

Hulu now has an HBO add on as well.

IIRC, iTunes killed the music industry more than Napster did. Album sales fell more with the ability to buy singles than they did with the ability to pirate.
