I think most in Cleveland would argue that they haven’t had an NFL team since Bernie Kosar was in his prime.

Or more likely fans in those cities get stupid about losing teams and get on board with caving into NFL stadium demands.

I don’t know where to start with this image...

Carr’s right, you know. I mean, if the fans really cared about the team, they wouldn’t have all moved, en masse, to another city in another state and left the team behind like they did. When an entire metro area population moves 550 miles south-southeast, just to get away from their NFL team, they’re not real fans.

These are the few “true fans,” the tourists, who will be sprinkled amongst the empty seats in Vegas:

Thank you for the article. This topic is discussed often on Detroit sports radio and I find it very sad that the Wings organization is basically squandering all of the goodwill they’ve built up with fans. Every time it comes up fans call to talk about their hatred for Holland. Bottom line, he is not a salary cap-era

I hate Ken Holland, and getting that confirmation about him being unwilling to get kicked upstairs earlier this year just buried the needle for me. The kind of egomaniacal asshole that he must be to not make way for the icon of the franchise has buried this team in shit, and will continue to do so until somebody

It was embarrassing that anyone was a Chris Jans fan.

Would it be better if state-sponsored media outlets silenced any and all dissenters? Am I really supposed to believe that you or anyone else would have praised the NBA as “classy” and said that “at least they aren’t hypocritical” had they not reported on this? There is an internal conflict to wanting players and

I really hate the ‘offensive player jumps into the defensive player to draw a foul’ play. I hated watching Reggie Miller make that a key part of his game and perfect the move. I have hated watching this become a key offensive strategy.

It would be even worse if NBA.tv refused to acknowledge the newsworthiness of Fizdale’s complaint because the league masters forbid any criticism of the officiating. We could do worse than grant NBA.tv the sincerity of doing its job.

It’s almost as hypocritical as the NFL fining players for wearing shoes promoting a charitable cause, and then hoping for good PR when they allow it for a week.

The most hypocritical part of this is that he will likely get fined, BUT NBA TV, which is owned by the NBA, publicized this outburst and credited it for its “emotions.”

The law prohibits illegally luring collegiate athletes into contracts by providing them money, gifts or other items of value. It also seeks to regulate sports agent conduct by requiring them to register with the state. It has been enacted in at least 40 states along with the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin

My guess is that it’s related to public tax dollars.

Gah, you’re more Melo than I am, taking your long twos earlier in the shot clock.

Fenves is making quite a leap by assuming anybody in Austin, much less the student body, gives a shit about the moribund basketball program, much less the in-game mistakes of a single player.

Hey, pal, an internship isn’t a job, it’s an Educational Experience! *posts ad at university career center job board* *fires office cleaning crew*

Fenves told the interviewer he “cannot comprehend how athletics could be a part of university life” if athletes were paid.
