You want to point to where America gets it right and the rest of the world gets it wrong, it’s being fans of soccer. Man, what a dull pointless game. A lot of running back and forth with players who flop on the field after barely being touched—are you kidding me? People want to watch this stuff?

It started as a grudge between two men. But the fans attacked him because he was outed as a fan of another team. The guy he was beefing with didn’t shove him over the railing.

Just as soon as Los Angeles gives up “Lakers.”

>> FWIW the SLC media market is pretty decently sized.

I can’t imagine what the difference is between a city without a pro sports team hungry for basketball and a city with a depressing team whose ownership has sold all of its popular stars while doing their best to reenact Major League! For I, too, do not recognize nor understand context! Now, check out my political

Was discussing those OKC Hornets teams with someone the other day. Really fun teams to watch. Two straight season of sellouts is a big part of why those guys bought the Sonics and moved them there. It’s amazing how fast CP3 went from being the hero to a hated rival in OKC once the Thunder started clashing with the

I know you’re on the anti-Westbrook campaign, but getting the bigs to box out for Westbrook to start the fast break earlier is pretty ingenious (assuming Donovan is the one who came up with it). Wouldn’t be surprised if other teams with dynamic PGs started doing it (Wizards, Rockets, Warriors).

Yeah, but they had two chances to keep them and turned them both down. Now, they’ll have to pay more to bring them back.

Cameraman: “Shouldn’t we cut away? This is a provate moment of grief this guy’s having.”

Harden trade or the Westbrook/Ibaka/KD injuries in consecutive seasons were probably the beginning of the end. That being said, Donovan is a solid coach anyways.

+1 Kanter-gait

How dare you try to bring logic into my unabashed hatred for Seattle sports fans!

Ya, I agree it sucks that the Sonics moved (I hate it when any team, especially one with a long legacy, is relocated).

“Kanter’s slowed to a trot!”

My take was different, that he was saying it demonstrated that Thomas wasn’t all together and that the decision to play wasn’t a good one. Either way I think we agree that he wasn’t saying “Man up buddy, don’t cry.”

I think you got a point, and I think part of the reason that Barkley’s comments seemed so jumbled (besides that just being his calling card) or even insensitive is that he didn’t want to call out the station DIRECTLY, and was trying to walk a fine line in explaining his feelings on the matter.

I think it was pretty obvious from the clip that is what he meant. It doesn’t feel right to watch someone publicly grieve like that and then all of a sudden have to flip a switch and entertain people.

Yeah, I know Barkley can be terrible often times, but I was shocked by how many people took his comments the way they did. He wasn’t very eloquent, but he definitely was not saying it made him uncomfortable because it was unmanly, or anything like that.

I’m maybe (actually, “probably”) giving Barkley too much credit here, but I took his comments to mean “we shouldn’t be sitting here looking in at his grief. It’s wrong, this guy needs to be with his family, not thrust into being a spectacle for thousands in person, and millions on TV.” Which is how I felt. Maybe he

I’m glad I’m not the only one who took Barkley’s comments a different way than most people did. I thought he meant that having the cameras focused on him was a bad look, and that it was a bad look for TNT/Turner to capitalize on his grief.
