Now they are no longer forced to watch 49ers AND Raiders every Sunday.

It would be so awesome if they came and cheered/wore red for the visiting Chiefs or cheered/wore green for the visiting Jets, etc., etc. Although their fan base seems like the type who are hardwired to be unable to do such a thing as cheer for another team in the AFC West.

If anything the Vegas/Raiders will end up looking like The Thing and Kurt Russell will burn it to the ground.

Re: Point B. That tax money coming from casinos and hotels could be put to better use than this. Opportunity cost is staggering.

Nevada residents at large are getting hosed too. The state cut education funding, but had millions to throw at a billionaire sports team owner...

I am really getting tired of this shit. Oh, the poor fans. It is not a surprise to anyone on planet earth that these franchises don’t care about their fans except as sources of income. Nobody has any illusions about this anymore - how could they possibly? The fans understand this perfectly well; whether they choose to

Well, if it says “Oakland” on it, it will be in the clearance bin.

Well Mark Davis is a loser too.

Pro sports corporations don’t give a shit about their fans.

It’s such a Davis thing to do. The Raiders will still be relatively close to the fan base, I guess. Team revenue will undoubtedly drop. So it’ll bite Mark in the ass. I don’t know WTF I was getting at. I’m day drunk.

“a whole lot of public money has been thrown around Nevada recently. Where is it all coming from?”

Where do you think? The people making decisions in Nevada don’t particularly care if their majority-Hispanic public schools have 38 kids to a classroom.

The season starts in 6 months. If I was a PSL holder in Oakland I’d get out of it and let the team play in an empty stadium.

Actually, no. The money is coming from a tax on hotel rooms, which are quite likely to not be reserved by Vegas residents. Out of town taxpayers are getting soaked, however, which is why this tax increase was so easy to sell.

Maybe the Dolphins are afraid of traveling/visiting fans going to Vegas to see their team play instead of Miami?

seriously, why would any fan pay for a ticket or merchandise for a team that is officially abandoning them?

Maybe it had something to do with him forking over $400 million dollars of his own money to upgrade the Dolphins stadium... Just a guess.

My guess is it’s a tourism dollars thing: they won’t have a lock on being the most vacation-y NFL city anymore

The Raiders won’t move to Las Vegas until 2019, and it appears they’ll stay put the next two seasons at the Coliseum as a lame duck franchise. That’s going to be awkward, and cruel

Haha. He’s going to the Knicks and his soul will be broken by October. Enjoy the tears, Fox. At least you can still feel something.

Oh boo hoo. Guess what, people’s dreams get crushed every single day and you don’t see us crying about it. Go home, lock yourself in a closet, and then cry, like a man.
