The reason they were 2 door is most likely for because throughout much of the 60's, 70's 80's and even into 90's image conscious Brazilians didn’t buy 4 door cars as those were for taxi or livery duty. They also didn’t purchase cars with sun-roofs because that was for men who had horns (cornos - cuckolds).
