I’ve come to prefer Syncthing as an open source alternative Reslio Sync.

I tried using the mobile site, and some of alt-Facebook app but ultimately found I prefer the Facebook app.

I don’t mind the autoplay videos when I am on WiFi but only because they are silent. Sometimes they are amusing and catch my attention, other times just slide on by. However autoplay sound is right out, at least we can turn it off.

That requires actually setting a timer. This automates it. Is it a small convenience? Sure, but a convenience none the less. It is also a practical project for people who might be interested in learning various skills that go into using a Raspberry PI.

I don’t think it is bait and switch so much as too different programs (one of them being Maps). My understanding is the Opinion Rewards are paid for by 3rd parties. The maps questions are just for Google’s benefit.

Yes, but it for anything in the play store. Movies, books, apps (including in-app purchases) - maybe even hardware (although it would be a long time to save up enough). So while not US currency, plenty to spend it on instead of maybe buying the same thing elsewhere.

While information can be useful it isn’t as powerful as emotions and in general people operate on emotion than they do logic (even the ones who think they don’t deep down actually do). At best people use information and logic to back up what it is they are feeling.

There won’t be. Most people just don’t care and it isn’t enough of a pain point to make them.

Man - most companies get flak because they try to cover up some choice as not being because of piracy. Nintendo flat out says and is still getting flak.

The best way is don’t buy it. Don’t accept these BS DRM schemes that punish you the law abiding customer and does nothing to stop those who will side step it anyway.

Because I work from home, once or twice a week. Usually when I am getting ready to go out and meet people - so in the afternoon or early evening. Otherwise I just use deodorant.

While I feel for the people who find themselves in such relationships and understand that this could be a tool for their abusers, that doesn’t change the fact that this is also a tool that can be helpful, save lives, and provide peace of mind for people in healthy relationships. For one thing it can be a tool that

Which would be people that you don’t trust and therefore do not put as a trusted contact.

People who want to be able to safely and easily be able to check on the location of their trusted partners and who do not have a reason to hide their locations from friends and family.

Because of football?
