Nice, bigoted stance you have there. You may know members but they don’t feel like they have to announce it to everyone.

We’ve run with NASA-NE for the past 15+ years and campaigned 2 PT cars. We also do the T&S for them since we’re there at every event mostly. The main reason we’ve stuck with them was because SCCA was pretty much hostile to subarus back in the day. Their inflexibility in classing us led us to NASA. We’ve run a few…
After seeing people driving in the snow thinking they’re invincible I’d have to consider it not common knowledge.
Having driven a PTD spec BRZ and forgot to put my earplugs in, I shudder at the thought of how loud it is in that van.
Having run with both SCCA and NASA, who offered the better experience? I’ve been involved with NASA for years and really enjoy it. I’ve had limited experience with SCCA and was wondering what your take is.
Why? We ran a caged automatic impreza l in NASA-NE and it got people their race licence. It was mostly stock with improved parts from subaru parts bins. More than a few weekends it was out every session with drivers of differing experience levels and was pretty much dead nuts reliable.
If NASA CCR says it’s a racecar, it’s a racecar. Our first racecar was a stripped, caged, 2.2l, automatic impreza and it got people their race licence. It too surprised more than a few people on track. We were often used as an example in the drivers meeting about flagging. Mostly because of the meatball flag (your car…
Interesting, I will have to keep that in mind. I wouldn’t think it would transfer enough vibration but it’s worth a shot.
I imagine a lot of percussive maintenance going on. My father instilled in me that smacking the side of the TV normally fixed it. Hammers were a common tool back then.
That barrier buckled like a belt from getting wacked by a scooter. Hit it with a car and the aftermath would be parked right on the tracks ready for more carnage.
AWD, ABS and traction control isn’t a magic protection cloak.
Lots of subarus are like legos, especially the early ones. With a little searching there are many parts that mix and match.
6) Had many a car that a key part of the starting process involved a prybar for whacking purposes or a screwdriver for jumping terminals.
Only handy when they’re not in tank ones.
Subaru’s mystery parking light switch. Many a subaru owner has been confused by their lights that magically stay on even though the main lighting is on a keyed 12v line. People accidentally hit the switch on top of the steering column and are perplexed why the lights won’t turn off.
One of my first experiences was shower based and found out water is a horrible lubricant.
Because the conditions are part of racing, even in roadracing. The only time I see the tractor out cleaning is when there is a major wreck or fluid spill. That’s a safety issue. A major part of rally is the low grip conditions. Sometimes you have to use strategy to gain the advantage.
Alcohol can’t affect someone through the air.
You have a turbo, huh?
So when shootings when other presidents were in office, regardless of party, all those that elected them are at fault?
