Well there are lights that control the flow so it’s safer than having a middle lane you sit in until a space opens up. It lessens the chance of a head on collision if someone chooses their space poorly. I’ve been a resident my whole life so it’s not that strange for me but I can see how it confuses others.

Tipping the attendant? That happened very rarely when I was a petroleum transfer technician. The major holidays I’d get a few but that’s about it.
