I don't think he's criticizing the scientific method. Rather, the fact that many times through history many scientists have forgotten about the scientific method and instead publicly derided other people's work and theories because they went against the establishment. Scientific method always works. Humans often fail.

Based on some of the comments, the pizzas they are launching are not real. They are rubberized plastic or some other similar material. No one is wasting real food.

Modern technology called Iron Dome might have something to do with that figure. We religious people call it miracles and we thank G-d at the same time that He gave us Iron Dome.

I would like to raise a point that I haven't seen discussed here yet. It has nothing to with "who started it" or "who is oppressed" or "who is right" or "whose land is it." (And I am not taking sides here at all.) It has everything to do with the character of people.
