They know what they are doing. Kids without fully developed brains now see the army as a place that can help pay for their college and all they have to do is play video games. If Marlboro had a twitch team or was sponsering E-sports teams, you know things would get shut down fast. But luring kids into signing away…
he attempted to correct viewers who were criticizing the Army, saying that the Army can’t recruit kids because people have to be at least 17 to enlist. “17 is still a child,” said one person in chat. He went on to say that people should not enlist in the Army because of video games.
48 hours, tops.
Over/under on how long before they make a “tactical retreat” from the platform again?
Theres totally nothing creepy, shady or imperialistic in using a platform often used by children to whitewash a military force.
Freelancer is my favorite space sim, and I am thankful to the team at Digital Anvil and MS that made the game happen without their insane overlord. Personally, I still find it to do things no game ever has since- like perfecting space combat, turrets, and a great travel system.
I’m sad I’ll never get a sequel.
Did they just... roadmap their roadmap?
I loved it precisely because it made me feel like I’d been punched in the gut for 30 hours.
Fuck this headline. I love it.
Yep. Knew it was only a matter of time before Heather left too. It’s a shame to see what my favorite website at one time has become. How awful a place it must be to work at for so many people to leave. But kudos to everyone moving on to greener pastures and best of luck to everybody else at Kotaku that deserve better…
One time friends invited us out to some hipster restaurant. When I got there I was horrified that it was full of long tables with long benches that were shared with others. I was not a fan of this arrangement 7 years ago, and I definitely wouldn’t enjoy it now.
NRA is pro gun control right now.
It’s really pretty but if this is the difference between 6 teraflops with 12 teraflops,
I have a little bit of experience with this stuff as an IP lawyer who lived and worked in West LA at the time. If anyone thinks this story makes Brosnan look bad, that’s likely the result of not understanding how this stuff works.
This movie should just be renamed “Hubris: The Musical”.
This is a very tricky legal situation, but think about it this way: it’s almost like a company is double-dipping by requiring a license for fourth-party use. EG, if you’re representing celebrity X in a game with celebrity X’s approval, and celebrity X always wears Brand Y shades, why should you need Brand Y’s…
These look like characters from Guitar Hero.
Probably because so much of what passes for being progressive online is taking ideologically sexy but wildly unrealistic positions and then shitting all over people who don’t match those positions 100%
I have no issues with Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard owning a building and I think they’re being really good landlords by not charging rent for April. It’s decent and I wish my apartment complex would do the same.
