This is coming from someone who really wants the Wrangler Pickup to happen:

Now playing

I remember setting up the registry before getting married and wondering why we needed so many towels. And then thought of this

No radio volume knob is a major issue for me, could possibly even be a deal breaker. We had a ‘95 Nissan Quest until a few years ago, and the fact the radio volume was controled by buttons rather than a knob drove me crazy

The Sonic also has a major torque advantage (especially with the turbo). 125 and 148 vs 114. The Accent and Rio are also up in the 120s

It’s got WAY more power than anything in its class

Especially because most people will take out a loan for a car, so you need full coverage vs. the liability only they probably have for their current ride (if it is indeed a POS)

In PA you definitely need mirrors (but I think only 2 are required) and the tires/wheels have to be covered by flairs. And the no doors is questionable but I don’t know the actually ruling on it (I always hear opposing arguments about Jeeps, but I put my doors on for inspection)

I have an ‘06 Pontiac G6 with leather that still looks brand new. It was my Father-in-law’s before, and he regularly gets his cars detailed so I am sure that has something to do with it, but my sister-in-law also had it for a year or so before I got it and tends to ruin things, so that might balance it out

Applebees is the best of the big 4 (which consists of Applebees, TGI Fridays, Ruby Tuesdays, and Chilis). I will give Chilis the #2 spot based on their Honey Chipotle Crispy Chicken Crispers

I wish we could still annotate pictures, because I would click the gray rows of the chart and comment on how he made it 12k miles while only adding 1/2 a quart. I am surprised there was any oil left

I don’t think TSBs are repaired for free. They are more of a “this is a common (but not safety related) issue and this is how to fix it”

You just need your VIN number

The Dart came in teal (in 2015). It doesn’t seem to be available on the 2016 model, which is a shame as it looked really good with the black wheels

I have been tempted to give my TJ (close enough) the Jurassic Park treatment. Maybe when (if) the value goes down and it isn’t worth more than my DD

No sliding doors = not a minivan

But once you move on to luxury brands, practicality is no longer a high priority. It is more practical to buy a Honda/Toyota than an Acura/Lexus

Plenty of people with kids buy 3-row luxury SUVs

It’s simple: Luxury shoppers (at least in the US) want something that is stylish and “cool” above all else. Minivans are neither of those things (in 99% of people’s minds)

Then 2 cars. And the only time that happens is vacations when we want a couple cars anyway so people can do there own thing once we get there
