I am not worried about dents. What about actual accidents? And I have no idea how much the additional premium would be; my 3 cars have very different rates and I have no idea why (my 9 year old Pontiac that is worth the least and has no collision coverage is the most expensive of all 3 to insure, including one car

Because then they get a reputation for the F-150 having the highest cost of ownership which negatively effects sales. They need to make sure that doesn’t happen

Except that insurance costs are based on history, not future predictions. So someone buying an aluminum F-150 today might be paying the same rate as his neighbor in the Silverado, but in a couple years when the insurance company has more data on the aluminum repairs, his premium might spike

Ford doesn’t give a shit about what your insurance pays out for a repair and neither should you

I think the most relevant thing to come out of all of these videos is the question about insurance cost. I am curious to see if the F-150’s insurance premium rises in the next few years over the competition because of higher repair cost

No Monster Trucks or Drag Racers? The only ones that you can see the whole event from your seat (I guess some of the smaller NASCAR tracks have that feature as well)

A 4x2 crew cab Tacoma is $25k and that is still with a 4 cylinder. When you consider the additional capability of the F150, the extra $10k is worth it (obviously your company thought so)

Remember when people had paper map books in their cars? Does anyone still do that?

Monster Truck Rallies

I have never been to CarMax either, so I am assuming that if you really wanted to haggle you could

“no-haggle” certainly does not equal “best price.”

Most commonly identified when a wheel falls off a car, ignoring torque spec throughout your car is not okay. Don’t go for “hand-tight”. Don’t give it a splash from an impact wrench. If whatever you’re putting back together has a required torque spec, follow it.

The Liberty was actually UniBody with reinforced frame rails. And the interior was redesigned for 2011 (IIRC) which made a huge difference (we have a 2012)

People give the Patriot and Compass more shit than they deserve IMO

A lot less space for stuff though. And I wouldn’t be surprised if the Outback actually had more ground clearance

Do you mean the Compass or the Patriot? The Liberty was discontinued in 2012 and was actually pretty stout (basically a modernized version of the XJ rather than a jacked up hatchback)

I have always preferred the GMCs over their Chevy brothers, and that trend seems to be continuing. Also, I really like the red one with black accents

What? I am going to assume you are not a snow sport person. Especially with everyone wearing helmets now, balaclavas are everywhere

You are correct. The Pro4x Xterra and Frontier have locking rear diffs

Locking diffs usually refer to the differentials for the front and rear axle. A locking center diff (whether mechanical or electronic) isn’t rare at all
