Animated original and live action remake? I think someone has confused those terms. Both films feature an animated dragon in a live set with live actors. They simply updated the technology used to animate the dragon.

They probably excluded that president because he has no impact on the story of the first movie or the new one.

We can’t forget the one time he almost took over the world without actually trying. He decided to take a night off and everything goes wrong. But those watching him find that they like his ideas and try to find him to be their leaders. A great episode.

Since they seem to be holding off on a Green Lantern movie, this could also be an intorduction to the DC cosmic universe. Justas Guardians of the Galaxy opened up the galaxy to the MCU, this could do it for DC.
