Hopping in here to echo comments I made above and to wholly agree: Prey is among my favourite games ever (it just ticks every single box for the old school Looking Glass Studios fan that’s alive and well inside me) along with the Dishonored franchise. I’m still enjoying the hell outta Mooncrash. Long live Arkane.

I hear you, friend.

Whilst there’s absolutely no denying the high level of craftsmanship in this short, it’s hard not to cringe at the way the tragic sacrifice and real camaraderie of the young men and women who suffered and died in one of the most horrible conflicts in human history is leveraged by way of an over-written and superfluous

IKR!? I’m chomping at the bit to jump in again (still have that bastard of a final boss left on the DLC; pride makes me wanna solo him, but I. Just. Can’t! He’s too damn hard). To make matters worse the newst of Dark Souls: Remastered has me so amped, and I haven’t even played III yet. Which was a deliberate choice

My 2c; on PS4 it had some horrid input lag. That is fixed now, and it’s a whole new game. My build is godlike now, after I mastered it WITH input lag.

This post is everything. Thank you.

Damn, dude! Didn’t pick up on the Jellied Eel, nor the Sokolov reference. But the Looking Glass tech and 0451; classic! It just has to have 0451! :) Personally love the fan service, and Danielle Sho is another great that I missed until this article! :) Think I’ll be clocking my first play through tonight...

Yep, what DangerousWhelp said: I’ma jump in here and defend the sit outta PREY. Not that it needs a defense; I’m an unabashed Arkane fan (DISHONORED franchise one of my faves of recent memory) and they just NAILED the SYSTEM SHOCK vibe, with a bit of BIOSHOCK to boot. It’s got some SOLID fan service; it kinda wears it

All these butthurt “OMFG I WANTED THE ORIGINAL PREY 2 GAIS!!!1!!” comments, man... PREY is such a great game; punishing yet rewarding. Peeps dismissing it on account of “OMFG IT SHOULDA BEEN A NEW IP GAIS!!1!!1" don’t know what they’re missing. Sad.

That explains everything.

How is it not a reboot? It’s not PREY 2. It’s PREY. It’s a reboot. And damn fine one at that; it’s been long since I’ve been so hooked, and the references to SYSTEM SHOCK lore and Looking Glass Studios is just the greatest cherry on top. After PREY, I say with confidence Arkane is the new LGS, and I am in awe of what

Errr... Metal Gear Geralt? Solid Wolf? Cos he totally went there.

On the note of no minimap, a recent have that has bucked this trend is DISHONORED 2. However, there are objective markers populating your HUD as soon as you get an objective. So, after watching a retrospective on what made games like THIEF so great back in the day (one of the points was that there were no objective

A bit late to the party, but this review came up thanks to the “Kotaku’s 12 Best Games of 2016" article. I don’t get why everyone’s giving D2's story such a hard time. Sure, some of the cut scene dialogue (especially during the intro) is a bit wooden and on the nose (bear in mind though, that most of the protagonists

How long before Jake Gyllenhaal sues them for using his PRISONERS-era likeness for Rafe? I loved it.

I agree! George Lucas gets a pretty raw deal, IMO. Sure, the guy’s not perfect, but he changed the game, innovated, and paved the way like virtually nobody before him had done. The irony, that most are chomping at the bit for VII, whilst decrying Lucas for continually altering and rereleasing the Silver Trilogy films;

Holy crap, yeah, and it was taking forever. And despite that, I just didn’t want to read up on how to defeat him!!! Haven’t felt that way about a boss from a non-FROM game for ages. I think I did read up about him though. :| However, for the Frog Prince, dayum, I played him once, got rekt, then beat him on my second

On that note, when CDPR won GOTY at the Game Awards, I actually uttered a little cheer. Have never had this kinda cathartic experience on behalf of a developer before.

Agreed, re: O’Dimm. Von Everic, maybe, but I feel that bringing O’Dimm back somehow, or having him influence what would (probably? ultimately? hopefully?) be the true end game for The Witcher 3 would really make everything go full circle, especially if it somehow influences both Geralt and Yen’s fates.

Dude, straight! It has to be; or at the very least a great reference to the Man in Black. Really dug this (rather big) easter egg. O’Dimm just about eclipsed all other villains for me in this game.
