The original Catherine makes constant trans panic jokes at Erica’s expense and deadnames her in the credits. The new version has an ending where everyone gets their timeline rewritten to be happy, and it de-transitions Erica. It’s not that the game explicitly messages “you should hate trans people” through dialogue.

Because it’s a cool thing to do. Minority emancipation doesn’t come from nowhere and sometimes you gotta be the vanguard.

You think if this were two older men treating a highchool girl this way, everyone would just think it was a funny scene?

The stereotype of these particular gay men doesn’t bug me all that much. Yes it’s an old trope, but played for laughs it can still be quite funny. I don’t feel represented (I’m gay, but don’t identify with this overly flowery behavior) but I also don’t feel offended when I see this stereotype. See Bolson in Breath of

It’s the snowflake argument that every douche bag gamergate kid makes, just fancied up to make him seem like he is actually saying something new, and not re-hashing a bullshit excuse to be racist/sexist/homophobic/whatever.

Sir, this is an Arby’s.

Is this satire? If not, yikes.

Sucks that they didn’t make these changes in time for Japanese players to be able to appreciate them. By waiting until the western release to go ahead and fix these scenes they’re unfortunately affirming that bizarre weeb chud fantasy where they insist that queers in Japan are either nonexistent or somehow totally

As gamers are, as a whole, a thoughtful, inclusive, and reflective group, I expect this change (one that in no way negatively impacts anyone at all) to be received with open arms and thunderous applause. Hooray for gamers!

The school girls are actually 1000 year old demons who just look like they are 12 so its totally ok.

Or for that matter, to Switch with a combo pack of P4 Golden and P3 FES (please?)

Now if Japan could stop putting homophobic bullshit in their games in the first place....

Bioware: shit we left the Christmas lights up!

Alright, put simply, they don’t want to jump the shark. Does anyone else find it odd that they compare their projects to actual franchises when they’re just overlaying referential parody dialogue over existing footage without changing the actual plot of the original material, and they’re at constant risk of receiving

Well, I mean... It’s been four years and The Division still has theirs up.

I’m a huge Destiny fan, so there’s a little bit of Shadenfreude for me here, but is kinda really sad. Like a shopping mall that died and everyone forgot about. Or the Rust Belt.

Somehow they will miss

Death Note takes place in a crazy urban fantasy world where Donald Trump has money.

It’s not like Trump would ever be able to use the damn thing in the first place, pretty sure the Death Note would require correctly spelling someone’s name or at the very least writing it legibly.

That’d be scary if he knew how to spell.
