I am a native Texan and I like beans in my chili. Pinto beans though not kidney beans. I think it tastes better that way. You can’t taste tradition. Eat it for the flavor how ever you like. Also I never hope the Cowboys win

We have a “landing zone” in our house where we store our keys, glasses, hats, purse, wallet, etc. I keep the reusable bags there. It’s become second nature to pick up the bags at the same time I pick up my keys and purse. You just have to establish a routine that keeps the bags readily available.  I also like the idea

I have 4 canvas bags that I have been using for 30 years at several grocery stores and farmer’s markets.

high volume chain like a Red Robin”

No.  I’m not even going to scan a QR code at a restaurant.

When I hear “Depression meals”, I picture super old ladies on YouTube making the cabbage soup they ate over the span of a week as a little girl.

As someone old enough to have been raised by a mother that lived through the Depression, I expected something very different from this piece based on the headline.

My husband will eat meat if he’s out sometimes. I don’t cook meat in our home. If he’s eating meat that day - he certainly wouldn’t eat meat for all three meals! I actually don’t know of anyone who eats that much meat on the regular. To me, it seems weird. But Mountain Dew is weird to me, so what do I know.

And I know it’s hard to believe, but there are people in this world who don’t have cell phones. I didn’t have one until last year.

And unless you’re also providing wifi, that would be a hard pass for me as I have a no-data plan.

The only people who enjoy the QR code menus are staff at lower tier restaurants. Almost every customer still wants a physical menu and any quality server will want to interact with guests for added personal touch that will potentially increase their tip.

Sorry, the QR code for a sit down place is a hard pass for me. I am not going to use my phone to screw up my order, I want a human to do that.

I do like Cholula, but if I’m doing mass-produced / in a restaurant stuff -- I sort of agree with Texas:  El Yucateco (though I like the green one best).

I mentioned this in the intro! Kewpie is one of my favorites!

I toast nuts (pecan, walnut, almond) in the microwave all the time. You have to keep an eye on them because they will burn if you don’t watch them. Put them on a paper plate or paper towel on a styro because they will get hot enough to melt the styro. (Ask me how I know this LOL) 2 cups of nuts, nuke them on high for

Pasta salad is really the way to go.

“Why doesn’t everyone live exactly the same way as I do?”

I’ve never had a problem, they rot down pretty quick. If there is an issue, then a layer of straw would take care of it until they degrade.

You feed them to the pigs, and then they will, in good time, become bacon.
