Really enjoyed this game, especially with the 8-bit style graphics option. The original NES Dragon Warrior is still to this day one of my favorite games, so much so I tend to bust it out once a year. Playing XIs in 8-bit really felt like the old orginal.

Funny, I’ve lived my whole life between the Irvine area and Santa Cruz (so San Jose area). Me and my SO make decent money, but we sure as hell can’t afford a house in Santa Cruz. $100K won’t event get you a spot in a trailer park.

I love my switch, but man is Nintendo so far behind on some real basic Quality of Life features.

Anecdote - I’ve been on the fence about it (I never played any of the previous games) and the direct did push me over to the “OK, I’ll get it” side.

So I never played any FF games, so I decided to do a Google Image search for “Carbuncle” to see what it originally looked like.  I wish I had not done that, that word seems to have a medical definition.
