I see your Blackpool and raise you New Orleans.

Halfway through this article, everything made sense. TVR is based in Blackpool. Now, most Americans don’t understand Blackpool, because there isn’t an American analogue. Blackpool is a city that was ostensibly designed to be a haunted amusement park, and city planners succeeded in their mission.

Ha..a mere “good driver”.

Agreed, and also as a fellow designer, I blame a few things for the recent trends in WTF automotive design:

The monolithic design with few, very precise lines demonstrates character and gives the car a modern appearance. The BMW iX is bold and yet clean and elegant.

I hate this ad viscerally.

The ME Four-Twelve

Back then we also had privateers, and the privateers won races. A Porsche RSR was €350k. Nobody talked about BoP. Then someone decided we needed deregulation to increase brand diversity, and now the privateers are long gone, manufacturers showed up and left again, cars are €900K, and I am also missing a lot of the

This car obviously wasn’t a pursuit or typical patrol car. It probably was used either with a K-9 unit, in which case the driver isn’t going to be hard accelerating or hard braking unless they like cleaning up dog vomit. Or it was used for meter maid or administrative uses. With the beefed up suspension and cooling, it

Does it have a cop motor, a 440-cubic-inch plant? Does it have cop tires, cop suspension, cop shocks? Does it run good on regular gas?

I’m pro-masks, and I wear my mask where I need to, but as a glasses wearer, as soon as I step outside wherever I am with others, the mask comes off. I’d risk the small risk of contracting COVID out in the open in exchange for my glasses not being steamed up and me walking into traffic. Or not being able to see when I

since the 718 Boxster is aimed more at people who pretend to care about driving dynamics.

Totally agree, though I’d add that I’m married with a 5 year old, and my NB Miata is still just fine. the kid’s car seat (now booster seat) fits fine in the passenger seat, you can turn off the passenger airbag, everything is right at her level and lightweight so she can see out the front and sides, buckle herself,

That original Z4 hit all the right spots. It was an improvement on every aspect of the Z3, but managed to not lose sight of what was good about the Z3. The suspension was better, interior was better, and the engine selection was great.

Do you have glasses?  Glasses and masks are like mortal enemies.

I am personally not a huge fan of super short tracks. With the lapped traffic being caught too often, it can make racing among the front runners more infrequent.

I’d rather have high speed corners that allow for multiple lines, which is something Mugello had that made a layout that would otherwise make for terrible

Road America, Runoff does not get any more minimal than the “Kink”

Agreed - to be honest I’m very surprised that Porsche has beaten Tesla with the silly fake noises. That’s the kind of irreverent stuff that Tesla does really well. However, it’s also the kind of stuff that free OTA software updates are made for.

There are a LOT of hard core Porsche fans with money in the US. Buying a Taycan as a second Porsche or *third Porsche in their garage isn’t too surprising.
