If she cares about cars enough to have an opinion on split-window Corvettes or Veyrons or prewar Cadillacs then I wouldn’t care if her opinions are wrong - that’s a woman I want to be around.

Correction: How the fuck do you have so much shit in a garage that you can’t park a single vehicle in it?
Take your damn star!
Very tempted to get a convertible right now (though not a Mini). People’s car buying habits seem to be hellbent on a.) blending in, and b.) being as practical as possible. I think back to the late ‘90s and early ‘00s when I first got into cars as a kid. There were so many more affordable or semi-affordable coupes,…
Calling a Mini “2+2" is being very generous, but yes
I went once. Cruised through parts of Caribbean. It’s an easy way to see several islands in a single go, but I found myself 1.) wanting to spend more time on each island, and 2.) wanting more time ashore in general, rather than stuck on an overcrowded pool deck,
False. It looks like a buck-toothed murder rabbit after some very long lines of cocaine....
Let him back in. He made a terrible decision. He’s quietly made plenty of amends; he just hasn’t gotten exposure from it because he’s been away from the national media after losing his ride.
You have to admire the cojones for attempting it though!
Correct, of sorts. Main barriers to F1 engine being used in a road car are:
In defense of Bottas you don’t get to his level without an enormous, borderline delusional amount of self confidence. If I heard a pro athlete ever say, “Eh, I’m average and always will be,” and I were their coach/manager/team principal, I’d immediately wonder if we need a replacement.
I’m less bothered by the wing and more by the excessive vents and body cladding. Honda went OTT on this one, and not in a good way.
This discussion is pointless without considering inflation.
Just curious...why is it such an imperative that BMW load up its lineup with BEVs? Seems to me the smart play from BMW’s perspective would be to build however many (well engineered) BEVs it thinks the market will tolerate while still complying with emissions regulations...otherwise you’ll see many more quarterly…
IMHO the G30 M5 is an upgrade over the F10...sharper styling, engine sounds better, handling is more composed and playful at the same time. F10 got a little too soft.
Give Lotus a shout - they’ll happily sell you the upcoming Elise. There’s also the A110 (a Murray favorite) in Europe. Toyota is working on a new 86. The simple, lightweight sports car is not dead.
DO. WANT. BAD.
Everyone I know who wants “cheap and sensible” buys used cars. Which is generally a smart move. Everyone I know what wants “(slightly less) cheap and sensible” buys compact SUVs. Which IMHO is less of a smart move, but it’s where the market is.
Yes. Don’t get rid of the better ovals, but please add road courses. NASCAR road races are hilarious fun. World class drivers duking it out in big, tough cars with way more power than braking or grip = plenty of spins, shunts, and lead changes.
5th Gear: Yet more evidence that many Wall St analysts tasked with covering the auto industry are fairly clueless about said industry...
