Enjoyed every damn bit of this letter. *Imagines world where Americans stopped constantly suing the hell out of each other*

I applaud them for the ballsiness....but do people REALLY think a compact Jaguar hatchback will fix their sales problems? Good luck selling that car to US buyers, who have shown very little interest in these types of cars. Eliminating the North American market makes the business case much tougher, unless you think Jag

I test drove a couple XFs including an XFR years ago and loved them. Even the non-R model felt more athletic than any non-M 5-series. Interior was behind the game, which I suspect was part of its downfall in the market, but it drove every bit like a high end sports sedan should. Great sound too.

It actually drove really nice. Ride/handling balance was superb, probably better than the F80 3-Series. My knocks on it were the tiny back seat and more importantly the interior, which was hardly nicer than an Accord. Some of the plastics had no business in a $50k+ car. It just didn’t feel premium, which matters

The constant “YOU DONT NEED THAT!” whining on here directed at truck owners is obnoxious. Don’t use that 8 ft bed or 10,000 lb towing capacity often? I’d bet most car enthusiasts don’t use all their horsepower, grip, or braking either. That doesn’t make it any less fun when you do get to use it.

Neutral: can’t entirely blame people for avoiding public transit right now. Several countries who built up testing/tracing capacity early on found that trains were a key vector for COVID-19 - hence why Seoul (one of the biggest, densest cities on earth) shut its system down.

Bingo. Almost everyone I know in consulting, accounting, law, banking, F500, etc is still working remote and has no plans to return in the near future. Downsizing office space makes a world of financial sense for businesses. I bet many orgs will maintain a partial work-from-home model long term. Bringing people in for

Jalopnik report one year from now:

That sound you hear in the background? All the people who almost bought buying a 308/328 back when they were $30-50k facepalming themselves!

Neutral to 1st Gear: at some point the public needs to accept that Covid-19 is endemic. It’s not going to magically disappear like DJT seems to think. We aren’t going to lockdown/quarantine it away (that ship sailed by early February) like Gretchen Whitmer seems to think. We have to live with it and manage it until we

No comments on the specifics. I’ll just say this: our society would be a helluva lot better off if fewer people’s idea of resolving conflict was, “Jump on social media and try to get someone fired/bankrupt/ruined.”

I’d never buy an H1 (too damn big and wide) but if I did I’d get one of the stripper milsurp ones being dumped on the market. Saw some people out cruising in one the other day with the doors pulled off. Looked like a helluva time.

LOVE that styling, but would be skeptical about its likelihood of success without either a.) bargain basement pricing, or b.) bringing NVH, ride, features up to what US retail customers expect

I work in healthcare delivery; I’m not an epidemiologist, but suffice to say there is much about the virus we still don’t know. Take any bold media announcements about howCOVID-19 works with a grain of salt, unless they explain the underlying research in detail.

I was barely old enough to remember it...but we definitely created something called “The OJ Simpson Game” after the Bronco chase happened. Deets are too politically incorrect to share on Gizmodo network, but generally involved jumping out of hiding to scare someone in public, then yelling “Acquit me!” as soon as the

Crack Pipe as a daily driver...but I have a good use for it.

“Good” and “less godawful than the M Sport model” are two very different things.

1st Gear: Kinda see both sides on this one. Tesla has clearly, repeatedly stated that Autopilot is NOT true autonomous driving, and that drivers still have to pay attention.

Exactly - the base C8 is not designed to compete with a 570S, Huracan, or even R8. It competes with the 911 Carrera/S/4S, which also has to balance performance and driver involvement with daily usability. People commute in 911s and Corvettes. They run errands in 911s and Corvettes.
