Had a real long conversation with my 87 year old grandma today, where I had to explain that all the bombers and the school shooters and the tiki torchers are always white, because if they were black, the media would go out of their collective way to show you PICTURES OF THEIR FACES.

If he had left a note literally saying “I’m a white terrorist!” white people would just sigh and say the note is proof he was troubled and not a terrorist.

One of the great things about Twitter is the chance for people on all social levels to interact. I think it’s fair to answer back, even disparagingly, to people who criticize you or your work, even if they don’t do it at you. That being said, more famous and popular people are, I think, responsible for answering

idk dude, i’d like to be able to coordinate things with my teams without being called a faggot

I’ve been gaming since, what, 1986 or so? It’s true that trash talk has been part of competition (of any kind) likely since its inception—but in the arcades, we had to be ready for physical consequences for our verbal bullshit.

Took our pre-teen, out kid to an advanced screening of this last weekend. Any attempts by me to critique the film were crushed by the fact that our kid wept openly for pretty much the last 20 minutes of the film. When the lights came up, kid looked at us and said, “That’s me.”

I can’t wait to see this, even if it feels twenty years too late for me to fully identify with it.

In most cases, the idea of cultural appropriation need to be thrown out. ESPECIALLY in the arts. It’s a waste of mental energy to try to figure out which color of skin an idea belongs to. Especially after it has been passed through so many minds and people from so many different walks of life.

The only people who care

The Kenzo video would get a pass for ripping off the Walken video because they were both directed by Spike Jonze, so it could be viewed more like a sequel than a mimic.

Thank god OoT is not in the top five on a Zelda list. Just for this, I will slightly adjust your book on my shelf, Jason.

I just want to play Overwatch with all of my friends who made the incorrect decision to get an XBox - is that so wrong?
