Absolutely. I think it’s really strange that Kotaku along with other blogs and YouTubers keep trying to push this point, but looking at the actual reviews, the game got overwhelmingly good reviews. It was not mixed or split or divided or anything. This narrative holds absolutely no water and everybody is falling for

yeah, awards are mostly arbitrary. I suppose one can make a point that a game labled “Game of the Year” can drive sales, but that benefits nobody except for the companies that participate in these award ceremonies.

Are they really that important for sales? Tell me, apart from game of the year, when have you ever bought a game based on whether it won “best performance” or “best audio design”

Scores are arbitrary; however, if we’re approaching it from that angle, Death Stranding was very well reviewed. Critical consensus was not split in that regard at all - it stands at an 83 right now on Metacritic.

sorry but I liked the controls of the Wii version. Thought they were fine.

guess karen doesn’t always want to speak with the manager

I’m not a regular here, and I’m probably in the grey (I am), but I want to say I stand with you guys and I enjoy your off-topic posts!

Meanwhile radio silence from the heads of Blizzard. It’s almost as if they think they live in a different world*

You’re right. The game reaches its original conclusion with that big fight, and you get a really awesome anime cutscene after, and after that fight there are no  more animated cutscenes because all the White Witch stuff was added for the PS3 release.

it might be legit, but i don’t feel like arguing. it’s boring.

well when you put it like that i’m questioning my life’s existence

no, but only because I don’t want to. and because it isn’t worth trying to justify what i mean to someone that probably just wants to argue anyhow

People complain all the time that games aren’t “innovative” enough and here Kojima is doing just that. I’m intrigued!

The OC has a reputation of being a very conservative and racist place to live and work in SoCal. That doesn’t justify his actions, but I wonder if that has anything to do with him being the way he is. It’s gross either way.

Looking at your rankings, I’m definitely a B tier guy and I’m okay with that.

i don’t know how I feel about this

I’m going to be that 40 year old guy yelling at the sky right now but ...

It was pretty good indeed.

I thought this was a pretty great episode - the only good one so far this year, imo.

Did we watch a completely different episode? I thought this one was SO much better than any before it this season. It shook up the entire balance of the show.
