Oh I’d bet diamonds to dollars she made it all up. It’s ridiculous.

Please stop giving these people more press.
that’s always been true for women, though. this is not a new dynamic.
What?? Both the actress and her character have totally common names.
I don’t doubt that’s true, but it doesn’t seem to be the case here.
1. Yes, they do.
Oh how funny, of course you don’t need a lecture on how the Dutch aren’t stoners! :) You’re totally right about the forbidden fruit thing in the US, it’s actually really nice here in NL not to have to hear all that ‘pot’s so cool’ rhetoric (I have nothing against weed per se, but I grew up around a lot of people in…
Eh, the Dutch really don’t use pot much. It’s just part of their perceived identity by outsiders bc it’s legal and tons of tourists come here for it; if you ask a Dutch person what ‘Dutchness’ is they’d be very unlikely to list pot - it’d be more like cheese, flowers, excellence in hydro-engineering, Golden Age art,…
I totally get why one would hate it. It’s not exactly a pleasant film. I think it a lot depends on if you’ve dealt with severe depression before. I have, chronically, and Melancholia was the most accurate depiction of it I’ve ever seen - I thought Dunst and Van Trier (whom I otherwise largely hate, Nymphomania was one…
Actually I thought that was the point of the scene. It was weird and awkward because the character was in a place where she was incapable of enjoying anything, and the sex was a desperate attempt to feel something as well as a compulsive act of self-destruction. I thought she was brilliant in that film.
A long time ago I flew into Miami with my college swim team to start our training break, and Kristi was there at the airport and we somewhat-timedly accosted her to tell her she was cool. It was awkward. Sorry, Kristi. Looking back I wouldn’t want to be hassled by rando swimmers either.
I’d hazard that it’s because the monarchy/nobility system was fundamental to the British Empire in its heyday, and by keeping that system around they’re trying not to face how far they’ve fallen since then as a global power.
If dancers really are like this it can’t just be about the changing rooms - then every female athlete would have this attitude (I was a swimmer age 4 on, and in my experience nearly all of us were kind of shy. Naked in public is still horrifying to me). I think it would have to be more about dancing putting the body…
On the one hand I agree with you, and there’s a discomfiting kind of entitlement to *another person* going on in the podcast. On the other... if I just randomly quit talking to everyone and refused to even answer the door, I would absolutely need my friends and family to do their damnedest to intervene. Because if I…
This is the worst thing I have ever seen, or heard.
Hi may know, but since women are only important as they relate to men, non-men’s-wives are irrelevant.
I assume he finds them at gay sex parties. There’s a whole subculture built around drugs and fucking.
No, they’re not. Squashing the free press is essential if they’re going to get away with this coup.
No, it was meh. I am starting to believe everyone under the age of thirty or so has some kind of aural judgment disorder.
‘Mariah’s of the world’ -?? What on earth are you talking about? Are you actually deaf?
