My immediate thought was a new Mazda3 Turbo in that gorgeous red color. But since Mike’s wife has doctor money to play with, why not step up to a luxury brand? Behold the Lexus IS in Ultrasonic Blue. Pair that with the red interior and you’ve got as much fun as colors can provide in a car. Reliability shouldn’t be an

Mazda 3 sedan.

I used to like the DS until I found out about the SM, if I had the money I would totally chose the SM to make an EV conversion on top of that it got the perfect cx rating for that

Counterpoint: daring design = good

We really only have 3 Telecom companies here in Canada. So, the impact of the outage was going to be BIG no matter who had the issue.
(There ARE several smaller Canadian sub-brands, but each of these are tied to one of the big 3 telcos and use their respective cell network).

It was no fun being without internet

Kinja may be powered by Rogers.

Can confirm this was a shitshow. Turns out having all of your eggs in two telecom baskets isn't a good idea.

What? I thought Italian auto manufacturers were known for exceptionally reliable vehicles?

It might surprise you that even within a model, some cars might be fine, and others have significant reliability issues, and it’s not necessarily the driver.

This is why I absolutely refuse to ride on the street at all any more and ride exclusively on bike paths. I firmly believe that a good 15-20% of the population has gone completely unhinged insane.

Makes me long for the classic, tasteful styling of the past...

Finally, something for the whale fetishists.

My first thought I'd the wing is false and it's a NASCAR entry.

N-Day

Obvious answer.

No idea what he’s talking about, so much understated design on sale today... ;)

Was there ever a point in time where Volvo didn’t have some of the more nicely designed cars on the road? Even the 80s - 90s era boxes looked good in their own rectilinear way.

Volvo has been knocking it out of the park for a while now. The newest V60/V90 are some of the best looking wagons ever made, the XC90 is stunning and was ahead of its time when the current one debuted, and the Polestar 1 is gorgeous as well. Their interior game is also excellent.

This is automotive design perfection:
