I paid cash 9 years ago for my Fit. My first new car, and the first car I owned in 36 years (NYC). If I’d known better I would have financed it, but it’s always nice to not have a loan payment.

I’d pair a Miata with my beloved Fit.
I'd drive first.
You'd not like me. I call all these non-car crapcans trucks.
To me they’re like troll dolls ( you may be too young...if so, Google). They’re so ugly they’re cute.
Awaiting my reply from the laptop to get us all in the black on the phone.
Another site, I've forgotten which one, found the 3 sedan to have more usable space for luggage than the hatchback, and even the CX30.
I’m retired - I bought the car at retirement - and live in a condo community with communal carports, under which I park.

I wash the car biweekly and wax quarterly with Meguiars products.
Amazing, the comments section finally came up.
I recognize their value, but the airbags in A-pillars and the rollover requirements have created massive blind spots. If I hadn't had passengers I would have hit someone on two occasions. Hell, I couldn't see a semi one time. And I'm almost 70 with no accidents.

In addition to some of my replies in this thread, the worst was the last: the new 2015 Town & Country wouldn’t start when we arrived at our first night hotel. It was loaded with all the valuables that shouldn’t go on a moving van on two big containers we paid $150 for. After hours of calls to National, they agreed to…
We were upgraded to a LeBaron and Mustang convertible on two trips to the Keys. That was fun, even if they were both agricultural.
Budget stocked first generation Neons. I went out of my way for them since they were so much fun.

I had Emerald Aisle for years through my employer. It was terrific, especially since I lived in Manhattan and didn't own a car for 35 years.
Alfasud on Elba in 1985. Total blast on the mountain roads.
Your post reminds me my Dad and I went to the GP at Watkins Glen when Emerson Fittipaldi in his Lotus barely beat Jacky Ickx in his Ferrari to secure the championship posthumously for Jochen Rindt, and two years later at the 6 hour where the Ferrari 312PBs dominated.
