I remember Car&Driver’s road test, they said the Buick GS next to it on the show floor would outperform it in every way, and carry five people doing it. A couple years later a friend thought he wanted one, and we took a used one out for a test drive, what a horrible disappointment. Gutless, overheated in traffic,

First off, that is not an R1150RT, it’s a R1150R and they’re rated at 85 HP from the factory. The RS/RT get the higher output engine.

When I got mine a few years ago I took off on a 250 mile trip, ran into rain 20 miles out. After a half hour I realized for the first time ever I was perfectly comfortable riding in 80 degree rainy weather. Pit zips and sleeve vents open, back vent partly open, no water coming in anywhere but had airflow and no sauna

I’ve got the one piece original and it is miserable in the summer here in the upper midwest if you have to ride in traffic. Your experience in LA and the desert is not the same, you have evaporative cooling to take advantage of, whereas if you’re dealing with high heat and humidity all you do is get wet and stay that
