I'm not so sure it is a joke. For however cutting she may be, her intent is always Hannah's best interests. To me it just raises questions as to, "what makes a good parent?", that we the viewer know Adam well enough at this point, to wonder if he truly is the right person for Hannah.

I love the choice Lena makes towards the end of the episode, when her mother saying what she thinks of Adam, and her reaction which first comes off of as a shrug, and another right away, her OCD tick.

Can Hannah's cousin and Shoshanna have an episode together? Just the two of them, no one else.

The fact it's Hannah's mother pointing out that Hannah's grandmother always brought up Hannah's weight, is so telling. The hypocrisy, or the cyclical nature of things we get caught into, how often times an accuser is guilty of what they're accusing others of being. The way Hannah sees her mother, the same way Hannah's

Is anyone else reminded of McNulty's actions in the final season of The Wire? As it feels that's what Rust's embarking upon here.

I'm not so sure it was as Todd said, the pool scene, but rather the scene where they're at the beach and Marnie's in open water. Those waves didn't look comfortable to be in, as we could see from Shosh and Jessa's desire to stay on the beach. If you have actors in a big body of water, like the ocean, you need stunt

I think he was a breath of fresh air in this episode, but they aren't utilizing his talents with the character as they could. That could be said of Zosia and Jemima as well, where Jessa and Shosh have had very little to do this season up until this episode.

Could also be the writers digging a little deeper into a character's motives, that Marnie did live with Shoshanna after she moved out of Hannah's apartment, and that by giving Shoshanna the nicest room, it was out of respect to that.

Especially if you try to put yourself in her shoes. I think as much as characters like Hannah or Shoshanna claim to have social anxieties, we've got a peek behind the curtains at Marnie, who really doesn't have a social life. She sits at home watching reality shows, and the only one she associates with regularly now

It's strange too, considering that his character really started to seem to take off towards the end of season two.

Really? I find her to be consistent, especially compared to Jemima Kirke and Zosia Mamet, who can often be really one-note. I think Allison has great reactions, and great cadence to the way she chooses to deliver some of her lines.

Well we've seen what her life is like, she's sitting in bed watching reality TV shows by herself. Meanwhile we're to understand the type of life Hannah's lived based on the descriptions of her memoir. It's almost as if their friendship was Marnie's desire to live vicariously through Hannah. Rather than be daring and

I loved that it was buried away. So many of the people who are detractors of Girls, are the people who miss things like that. That line thematically encapsulates so much of what Girls is about, and what it's intending to be social commentary on.

I resorted to my sports-watching self and was genuinely cheering as if someone had just scored a touchdown.

I briefly transformed into a female African-American stereotype, snapping my fingers every which way. Hopefully Shoshanna inherits Jessa's drinking problem.

I think as well, Kives is a good foil to Stuart, we often see how Stuart's shortcomings benefit Kives. Especially in this episode, as Stuart takes off without him. We see how Stuart constantly shoots himself in the foot, and despite Kives' behavior towards Stuart, he's actually not a half bad guy and ladies like him

Is everyone always telling him to watch it?

HOW COULD YOU BE SO HEARTLESS?

I skipped all of last season except for the finale, because someone told me Richard went on a rampage in it, so I watched the finale and I swear to God I didn't miss anything. I mean, I'm sure I missed a season's worth of this-and-that, but wow! Look, Nucky's in trouble, but once again he sneaks out of trouble!

Without Peggy, we would not have such classic lines from Don, like "THAT'S WHAT THE MONEY'S FOR!"
