Oh, right, purpose.

VW engages the locks at 15KM/H....since at least ‘05. It also auto locks the doors after a few moments if you forget to lock it after turning off the ignition and getting out. It’s actually one of the reasons I went with manual lock and window options on the Jeep....so I don’t lock myself out by accident.

It’s handled in much the same way this fellow attempted to handle it: Devise plan to free the car *without* suffering the embarrassment of anyone ever finding out you got stuck in the first place.

You could try a screenshot.

At last! Someone else finally understands. I’ve been looking to build a similar intake (less the centrifugal dealy) for my vehicle, not for increased power but to make optimum power. I haven’t solved how I’m going to keep debris out of the intake (yet), but I’ve been considering a NACA or cowl design.

Yup...they should use pool lights for that purpose.

Or turn off DRL’s when parked on the side of the road at night.

Through trial and error. It was the second attempt at loading.

Now, I have no particular love for Fords....but ouch.

Wow. No wonder they keep hammering on excavation procedures.

Seems like a no-brainer, right?

I think, technically, the term you’re looking for is whomever...unless I’m still misinterpreting the proper usage of the term.

Up next: SRT GC!!

Yes, I will acknowledge the adjuster serves the interest of the insurance company over the interest of the insured, but most adjusters try to do as much for the costumer as they can without raising the ire of the company. At least, that’s been my experience.

What I like about the ‘ring is that it’s a fair distance with a lot of technical turns and such. As such, I think it is relevant as it puts pretty much any vehicle through its paces. The time itself may not be worth splitting hairs over, but I’d say it would reveal any major flaws in a vehicles character more so

Well, I was paraphrasing, not speaking in code. The adjuster has to do their research and come up with a valuation. It’s probably not going to be higher than you would expect, but it should be fair. Yes, if it’s unfair you should complain about it, but you also skipped over the part where I talked about people over

Well....you could look at it as money in the bank. You could spend it later, if you want. It may even actually appreciate over the long term. But it should hold its value if it’s stored well.

If you honestly felt like you were getting cornered, you could have other shops inspect it (three quotes is a good rule of thumb). Insurance companies do have preferred shops, most of those will be pretty close. If you’re still not happy, you could always take it to an independent shop and send the insurance company

It was conjecture on my part.

No argument from me about that. But, just to dive a little deeper into what I was talking about earlier, there’s a few distinct thresholds when it comes to what people have (and its value), what they think it’s worth, and how you should insure it against loss.
