I'm a runner, and I'll occasionally see very overweight people running, usually it's women (why is that?). Like you said, I'm totally rooting for them, totally impressed that they're out there, and they look good doing it—I think because they're moving energy through their bodies and being athletes.

My family's pet growing up was a Dalmatian. Great dog! Good with us (6) kids, playful, sweet, a little hyper at times and neurotic, but who isn't. The mythology in our family was that Dalmatians were one of the smartest breeds, now I see they're rated one of the dumbest. I sure couldn't tell.
