I think I would have been mortified to be caught in one of these at one point in my life. Now, as a miserable old fuck, I’d probably relish being the one to kill it for the workers’ sake. Take the free coffee and throw what you were going to pay into the tip box. 

I think there’s kind of a tendency to blame everything that’s a problem in Destiny 2 on the vaulting, but in this particular case, I’m not sure that’s the entirety of the issue: part of it, I think, is just that Bungie has a bit of an overwhelming fondness for complexity, both in its narrative design and in everything…

I just came back this season after 3 years away and in my experience, once you get over the initial feeling of being overwhelmed with random quests, etc., it does get quite a bit better. There are still definitely gaps in the story from where I left off (Forsaken), but I bought Shadowkeep too, so the gaps aren’t quite…

Very good point. Part of the Live Team’s seasonal update needs to be updating the New Light experience to reflect the current state of the narrative.  

Yeah, I quite enjoy Destiny 2, and don’t mind paying for it at all! (Which doesn’t mean I’m unsympathetic to how overwhelmingly obtuse it must seem to new players/players who took time off; I’ve been playing Destiny since the beta for the first game, but if I hadn’t been, I’m not sure at all I’d want to start it now.)

Toxicity is never cool, and I totally get the developers wanting to take time off for the holidays. I also agree that expecting everything that’s wrong with BF 2042 to be fixed immediately is beyond unrealistic.

As someone who really enjoys the game, he is right with the cuffing and punching. It’s not a choice, it’s a set animation that has a chance of happening whenever you cuff a suspect.
