I noticed this same trend for me a while back, so I keep a pseudo “on-deck” list of games that are the only ones available to me for the near future. If a new game comes out, I have to swap one out of that rotation. It helps keep my analysis paralysis from getting the better of me.

I think Elden Ring gives you a free pass. Not chipping away at backlog for it doesn’t count against you.
