Important question for someone (you???) who knows more about English politics than I do: What do you think the chances are that the Conservatives get tossed out, and the new (Labour/Liberal) government rescinds the Article 50 declaration? Can they cancel Brexit, or are you guys fucked?
TRY HARDER
I’m sure the trollish irony of reviewing the current administration as if it were commercial scripted media seemed novel at the time, but The Daily Show did more or less the same bit back in 2005.
Please share with me the worst parts of her previous shitty behavior, so I don’t have to go back through her (no doubt deplorable) history and find it myself.
I am amazed that nobody has started a “this is the ugliest cat” thread yet. Somebody needs to do something about that cat, because it’s hideous. And I thought cats hated water, yet here’s this one sitting in a shower like a dumbass. SMH.
Addendum: I finally managed to get a copy of Balmorhea’s album Constellations, which is excellent and the second track of which is the title sequence for the superb Southern Gothic drama Rectify.
As always in discussions of capital punishment, the following quote (and the book that was cause for the interview) is worth noting:
There’s a review out this week in the NYT of a book that does an apparently excellent job at postmortem on the Clinton campaign. Their takeaway was that Clinton learned almost nothing from her 2008 loss to Obama, ran the campaign more or less the same this time around, assumed the battleground blue-collar white…
It may surprise you (it won’t, but it definitely will depress you) to consider that a large number of Americans are not interested in justice, nor in deterrence, so much as in vengeance and the exercise of power over the lives of others. Also, there’s this:
Don’t be too quick to discount the Banality of Evil phenomenon.
In Socialist Hellscape USA, swamp drains you!
Furthermore, one of the arguments the white-privileged use a lot is conflating “is guilty of this problem” with “is responsible for fixing it.” No, you personally did not implement or carry out Jim Crow. But you benefited from it, you and people like you have an advantage today as a result of it, and — since you hold…
It is always worth noting, in discussions of this topic, the following quote:
But what’s with the Emperor’s theme right at the end?
Then buckle up, because I very much fear it’s going to get a lot worse before it starts getting any better.
I have to say, after hearing Chuck Schumer deliver some pablum to my university over a decade ago, I wasn’t terribly impressed. Seeing him here playing the hard-assed elder-statesman-who-maybe-knows-some-guys-who-could-fuck-you-up is rather refreshing.
I mean, he sets off my gaydar almost as bad as that ex-Asst-DA in Michigan who spent years stalking the openly-gay student body prez at the local university.
Well, to be fair, the stock market just erased like $800M of their market value, so maybe it’ll hurt enough that this asshole just might think a bit next time before he opens his noise tube.
You can not, because “-eaux” is the plural ending. If you are of the male persuasion, the singular would be “Jezebeau.” Which is perfectly acceptable.
