I’ve heard several stories of blown clutches at low mileage that weren’t replaced under warranty. That’s not to say it never happens, but it is rare and I sure wouldn’t hold my breath.

Bought the car in April of 2013. Hadn’t had a vehicle (insured) since December of 2009.

I ordered my car. Took 8 weeks to build. Or arrive, at least. At the time of purchase, it was the only car of it’s kind in Canada.

They told me on April 10 that my car would be ready for me to pick it up on April 12 and I needed to have valid insurance to leave the lot. So I set up my insurance for April 12.

Huh. And I was mad that my car arrived two weeks after it said it would. Cost me $75 in insurance on a car I didn’t yet own.

Guess all what you said could be true. Still, I’d be wary of the parenting ability of someone charged with child endangerment... but even then, that might still be a better situation than foster care.
