Never played that. Or Yugioh or Hearthstone or any other competitive card game, really. I liked MTG until ~3 years ago and didn’t see much reason to join another expensive hobby that wasn’t much different from a game I was already playing.

I started playing it when I was 11 or 12 so that I wouldn’t have to go outside for recess (during the winter). Turns out I liked the game and kept playing it.

My point is more to a direct comparison: creatures from 15 years ago vs today’s creatures (which are cheaper or more powerful than the old versions at the same cost) and spells that act similarly.

On the contrary, I stopped playing last year. Collected cards for 10-12 years and slowed down some about 5-6 years ago. Partook in the occasional draft (2-3 a year) and played all the Xbox/PC MTG games including the most recent FTP version.
