100% agree. Akula’s were the scary boats ‘back then’.

This guy understands what he’s talking about. The Akula’s were a lot harder to detect, and therefore way more dangerous. I spent 6 years on a SSN during the early to mid 90's.

No. No they did not. The Akula class were harder to detect than the Alfa. They were ‘noisy’ but USN standards. And although they were fast, Mk48 ADCAP was a lot faster. I spent some time after active duty in the NUWC running torp sims, and the ADCAP killed all the things.
