Whether or not someone is a “true fan” isn’t relevant. Holding up tradition/culture as a defense of some practice doesn’t make that practice right. Not wanting to “decide the game” is a terrible argument. The fallacy is that, somehow, not calling a penalty under that senario has no influence on the game. If you’ve affected either team’s probability of winning the game by not calling the rules, then you’ve influenced the game.
