It was in the same place in the first gen, but they at least had a big enough space you could put in a full size. The second gen can only fit a space saver.

They do, its called Android Auto and Apple Car Play. Android Auto is even introducing wireless versions where you can leave your phone in your pocket/purse/wherever if you like to drain your battery. I use it every day in my car.
