I think the “defects” were unintentional. It’s just that Nala Se enhanced them further to make good use of them. They were not created from the start to have those differences from the regs.

I got that bullshit screen while using Twitch’s own desktop app. Makes no sense at all to me.
There was a time jump at the very end of the season. Like in the after credits scene or something.

Tao was from the lost continent of Mu, not Mayan. Though they do go into some Mayan ruins at some point in the show.
In the little documentary / behind the scenes thing they showed after the episode, they explained that they did it because George RR Martin always talked about how it’d be fun if the two shows had a crossover.
And that D&D were gracious to let them “borrow” their dragon for the scene.

I saw it last summer at Fantasia Festival in Montreal. It was brilliant and great to see on the big screen.
You can’t see a whole lot while wearing the helmet, which is probably why they say that on the box. It’s fine to goof off a bit and use the voice modulator, but I wouldn’t want to wear it as a cosplay item without someone to guide me around.
