This is a typical scare tactic that you are just perpetuating. NOT ALL BROKERS are equal. I work for one of the big brokerage firms for over 20 yrs and I have never been pressured by management to buy into a specific product. Are incentives dangled in front of our eyes regularly? Sure. They are not product specific

They do not support Acorns nor Robinhood yet (I messaged their support letting them know). Once they do I'll be very interested and have been looking for something like this. I would not want to actively have to manually update this info.

I feel your pain. My mortgage is only reported to 1 of the credit reporting agencies. So much for borrowing a couple hundred grand boosting my credit score.

This is a frustrating problem. People who don't carry debt get dinged for being fiscally conservative because there is no info upon which to base a score.

People ask me this all the time. It’s a huge compliment to me. I know a lot more than most folks, especially about IT, and it’s nice to be recognized for it. I don’t get how this could be construed as an insult.

I am a guy and people ask me that question all of the time. It is nice to know the avenues in which one procures knowledge. There are a ridiculous amount of resources, and knowing which websites/books/learning establishments work the best is probably worth knowing.

The past few years I've booked pretty exclusively straight through the hotel's website for the best deal with a few exceptions. If it's a hotel that is discount eligible, you might find a better deal on orbitz. Also use their mobile site. I got 20% of a recent booking for booking via the mobile site.

The government is probably hoping that if you're 70 you're not reading the news, and hopefully are being slowly killed by government healthcare. Give us your elderly, your sick, your infirmed, you're vulnerable...they're the easiest people to steal from."-New Democratic Party Slogan

Anecdata alert but, every young woman I know in DC, myself included, has had innumerable creepy/scary encounters with cab drivers and few-to-none with uber drivers. When I do take a cab it's normal for female friends to respond with 'oh my god no take an uber.' It's perceived by women in DC as safer than cabs.

Where to begin? Cleaner, more reliable, don't complain about short routes, don't have to wait for a receipt or change, user-friendly app, don't get attitude about using a credit card, friendlier drivers on average, knowing exactly when your ride will arrive....

I would be careful in putting too much emphasis on P/E ratios, they are certainly NOT static nor an impartial statistic. For example, should you look at the YTD, 12-mo, 24-mo, 60-mo, or ITD historical P/E? Your chart, for example, shows average P/E over the period 1948 to date, but the S&P 500 index (according to

I hadn't thought of using the bones as a charcoal to coke oxidizer. Now that is using your noodle Swanson style!

The best smokescreen for gossip that Southerners (especially Southern Baptists) have come up with is the prayer request.

Yes, we should all only do the jobs that we are 100% qualified for and never push ourselves or strive to do more. I should know my place.

These are great tips. I'm going to try them on my wife of 15 years.

I have been testing Betterment for a little over a year. If you are looking for an automated all in one solution then it works well. They have no investment minimum like some of their competitors but if you do want to take advantage of their Tax Loss Harvesting services then you need to deposit $10k. Every time there

I've been using Betterment now for at least 4 years. I love it. I use it as my savings account and have the 401k at work. Great return and it is incredibly easy to use. Setting up automatic transfers is simple and free. You can pull money out whenever you want without penalty(Although I think it changes your taxes a

Anyone have any experience with a service like Betterment for investing? I'm looking for something that can monitor the markets and my portfolio continuously and make adjustments as necessary, for me. I just opened an account, so I'll give it a try. Would be curious to hear from anyone else that has tried it.

You don't have to take out those loans though. If it's too high, maybe you should reconsider your college choices.

Fuck, I didn't count that one... Damn you safety-conscious young me!
