Clearly this advice is not for the overworked. Though, I've often found that employers expect full plates to magically get larger via the mysterious and undocumented process of "unpaid overtime" which is totally "optional".
Every profession that introduces certifications ends up with this behavior in short order. The piece of paper makes the person feel qualified and special, so they go out of their way to reinforce the idea in other people's minds that it has value.

The lifehack for this one is to always be a consultant. Then you can tell the client their policies are shit all day long and when they complain about it to your firm, the partner laughs at their face and bills them for the time it takes to stop being hilarious.

As I understand it, that means that there's a non-trivial chance he'd win his civil case. I don't know if that means 20%, 40% or 51%, maybe even 90%. The court doesn't think the specific claim lacks merit to a degree that they'd drop the case.
You almost certainly currently hold disprovable beliefs that history will eventually relegate to the crazy bin. Does that mean we shouldn't take anything you say seriously?
